The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease. —Thomas Edison.
Marc Wagner is a third generation physician. He obtained both his MD degree and his Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from Loma Linda University in the year 2000. He is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Spine Care. He moved to Bend, Oregon, in 2005, where he practiced non-operative orthopedic and soft tissue medicine for nearly a decade at The Center for Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Care & Research, before shifting his focus to more integrative approaches to health care.
After noticing the critical role that nutrition and lifestyle played in the healing of his patients, Dr. Wagner decided to refocus his energies on creating the conditions for health, rather than simply treating disease. He is now a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association and is currently pursuing Functional Medicine credentialing through The Institute for Functional Medicine.
What makes Dr. Wagner come alive? Good food, good music, energizing movement, green spaces, poetry, stories, watercolor paintings, learning, writing, and reading to his kids.
Dr. Wagner’s current passion project is: BioFlourish.com, a doctor’s guide to human flourishing, where he blogs about food and lifestyle, develops products for cognition and well-being, and hosts his own YouTube shows: Kitchen Voyeur and Fresh Takes with Dr. Wagner.
His core values are:
- Biology before Technology
