What's the Deal?
Which is better, local or organic? This question used to confuse me. But thanks to the good folks at the Lexicon of Sustainability, you can get a handle on this conundrum in under 3 minutes by watching this video.
Many local farmers are Organic in all but name. They often lack the resources to get USDA certified.
The Organic label can be helpful, if you don't know your farmer. But if you DO know your farmer, then you already have the best certification possible: Face Certification, and the Organic label becomes less important.
